"Tell whatever six vs. one anti-Trump panel we're sorry that we cut into their time", Conway said. She also alternately blamed President Barack Obama for the Russian Federation story and claimed everyone had damaging information about Clinton, so therefore it wasn't newsworthy that Trump advisers sought it out from a Kremlin-connected attorney.
Right out of the box, Conway began the interview by twisting questions about President Trump's self-contradictions on the issue of Russian Federation (his team boasted of a "cybersecurity partnership" with Putin, only for the president to tweet that it will never happen) into a relitigation of the Trumpkin trope that CNN ignores the real news-in this case, that Trump's tweet also boasted of his ceasefire deal for southern Syria.
Conway then said that Cuomo was just trying to "go viral" with his statements. "That's the bottom line".
She also said Mr Trump Jr "explicitly stated he didn't even know the name of the person with whom he was meeting".
There appears to be little if any coordination between members of the Trump administration and its media outfit on what to say or not say about Russian Federation, and when.
CONWAY: Two quick things.
"You gotta treat him more openly and honestly". He said that also in his statement. "He agreed to the meeting based on a contact from the Miss Universe Pageant".
Conway, questioned about the president's change of direction, responded that there was good, productive news out of the meeting in relation to Syria.
Coverage priorities are somewhat subjective, of course, and the White House and the press are unlikely to agree on them.
According to Conway, since Trump Jr. apparently did not actually receive any sensitive information on Clinton during the meeting, he did not collude with Russian Federation.
"Chris, you keep on saying, 'Russia, '" Conway said.
"I cover what I think matters to people", he told her.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Kellyanne, we have to go. Thanks very much for your time. "Donald Jr.'s defense is that he tried to collude but instead he got Russian catfished?" And then a meeting in which he didn't allow a notetaker to be in it.
With regard to the June 9, 2016 meeting in particular, Stephanopoulos pressed Conway about how seeking a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian national in hopes of receiving damaging information about Clinton "isn't at minimum an attempt to collusion". But what would Kushner or his lawyers gain by exposing dissembling by Donald Jr?
"Let's focus on what did not happen in that meeting. there was no action taken". USA intelligence agencies insists that campaign was orchestrated by Russians hackers in order help elect Trump.
Absolutely not, and I discussed that with the president-elect just last night.
