How long will the Indians' winning streak last — Vote

"We were hoping for a fun promotion and as Indians fans, we always want them to win as many games as possible", said a representative for Universal Windows Direct. "Last year they won 14 in a row, so we thought 15 games in a row was possible and with it being our 15th anniversary, it made sense".

Here is a look back at baseball's longest unbeaten streaks, and how the teams finished their seasons. That would equal the American League record established in 2002 by the Oakland A's. The 1916 New York Giants had a 26-game streak, but that included a tie.

Sunday's contest was largely decided by Toronto outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, who mashed two home runs off Anibal Sanchez en route to a five RBI day at the plate. We're so conditioned to sort players into "Hall of Famer" and "pile of anonymity" after they retire, but gestures like this remind us that a guy who played had some worth and entertained us even if he wasn't a superstar.

Francisco Lindor, one of the club's harvested home-grown stars, hit a bases-loaded triple to highlight a five-run second inning. The Indians have scored have scored 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in 10 of their last 12 games. He leads the league with 47 doubles and 79 extra-base hits.

Currently the Indians stand tied with the World Series champion 1947 New York Yankees and the 1906 champion Chicago White Sox with 19 straight wins.

The Tigers did get Ramirez out of the game, in a very unconventional manner, in the sixth inning. Carlos Carrasco continued the Indians' historic pace for starting pitchers, delivering six scoreless innings and striking out nine.

The Tigers have gone 0-5 against the Indians during the streak, outscored by a 40-5 margin. "We focus on what we have tomorrow and we'll see what happens".

Two innings later, Jose Ramirez belted a two-run home run down the right-field line.

Of course, it's easy to get worked up about late-season streaks.

In his first eight starts after the break, Carrasco saw his ERA rise from 3.44 to 3.95. He was taken out for precautionary reasons. The Los Angeles Dodgers - historically dominant for most of the summer - now lie in ruin.
