Jose Mourinho explains Marcos Rojo absence against CSKA Moscow

06 Diciembre 2017

The Man City midfielder is a doubt for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash at Old Trafford after he failed to travel to Ukraine for his side's clash with Shakhtar this evening.

Mourinho has confirmed that the Spaniard will be rested for tonight's Champions League match against CSKA Moscow, though, with Sergio Romero starting and Joel Pereira on the bench. The Dutchman lack of mobility regularly exposes him when he plays as a full-back and looked out of his depth again on Wednesday night. It's normal - first match of the season for him.

United sealed progression to the competition's last 16 for the first time in four seasons after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford cancelled out Alan Dzagoev's opener.

"Now David is the third best".

Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen and that's why the German press are reporting that Schalke are ready to offer Goretzka a club record £150,000-a-week deal to secure his loyalty.

Pogba played one of his best games since he joined Manchester United in 2016. It didn't directly lead to a United goal, but it did illicit a positive vocal response from the stands all around Old Trafford and it wasn't too long before the decisive goal did actually come.

If United's summer signing wants to establish himself among the elite centre forwards in Europe, he needs to be more clinical and assume the role as the team's match-winner.

The centre-back put in a solid performance in his first game back.

Those eager to criticize were already thinking it after he had barely featured, but it was at that point that the word 'flop' began to get more of an airing.

"But I think it doesn't matter the team we get in the draw".

Despite Jose Mourinho's insistence that patience and time was key, fans and critics seemed to expect too much from Lindelof following his £31 million move from Benfica.

"We picked up some good experience from this Champions League campaign, especially for the young players".
