Arsenal star Jack Wilshere speaks out on injury suffered against Chelsea

13 Enero 2018

After drawing 0-0 with Chelsea in last night's semi-final first leg, Arsenal have nothing left to play for this season other than the Europa League and Carabao Cup, and there is a growing feel within the Emirates that it's time Wenger moved on.

A number of players such as Per Mertesacker, Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy are all coming to an age that makes them uncertain long term, and they are probably sooner or later on the way out.

"He has an ankle sprain and the first look at it was not too bad, but of course for Sunday I think he will be short", said the Frenchman, who watched the match from the press seats as he continued to serve a touchline ban. City have indicated a willingness to pay £20m for Sánchez, who is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer.

But according to the Evening Standard, Ancelotti would be one of the names considered if Wenger decides to leave a year early. Have your say in the comments section below.

A video emerged of the attacker having a blast at a party in Soho at 02:37, breaking the curfew set by Arsene Wenger. There is nobody in the game who is better than him and give at goes'.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Sanchez's future, Wenger does not believe the Chile international's commitment can be questioned.

The knock comes as a cruel blow to the oft-injured Wilshere, who has made seven consecutive league starts for the Gunners, playing all 90 minutes in each of those matches.

Flanked by a security guard and coach Jens Lehmann for company, Wenger's every groan was in full earshot of the media, every shake of the head clear to see and the kicks of the benches reverberating.

Sánchez came on in the 66th minute of the 0-0 first leg draw and Wenger not only praised his attitude but expressed a confidence the Chilean would remain at Arsenal after the January window.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen wasted the best of the hosts' opportunities, failing to find the target with two headers in the second half after Cesc Fabregas had also spurned a headed chance before the break.
